Bombermine is an online multiplayer game which pitches you up against others from all over the world. Each round last 20 minutes, and in the progress you’ll experience chaotic explosions while collecting any power-ups that appeared after the explosion. It has a scoreboard that shows your kills and deaths, and points are granted for various actions that you have taken. It will be used in ranking system to determine your rank.

Don’t be surprised if this is your first time entering the battlefield; you’ll see slowpoke crawling around, Nyan cats that plant bombs without any stop in between, and even a football that you can kick towards a goal post. You’ll be spawned in a random area, & to move around, you’ll have to plant bombs to blow up a block that’s blowing your path. Different types of blocks required N amount of times for it to be blown up, with the exception of iron block that’s impossible to be destroyed. AS you walk around, you’ll see random blocks place around a treasure chest. which’s being protected by different types of blocks, and inside it contains a shield that can protect your from getting blown up.

There are 5 different types of bombs, the first and most common one is the simple bomb, which will explode after planted for a while. The second one, blank bomb, doesn’t hurt any player and it can only be placed in invulnerability condition after respawn. Nyan-bomb will be planted automatically when you’re infected by a Nyan cat, & it destroys everything and everyone in its path. The blue bomb stretches over a large area, & it’s the one that deals the most damage. Lastly, the radio bomb only detonates when other bombs planted around it explode.

There’s also statuses that transmit from one player to another as they pass by each other. Most of them are negative though, so keep an eye when you notice something awkward around you.

At the end of each round, Pacman will pop up on your screen, swallowing everything that’s blocking its path, & for the last 10 seconds, everyone will turn into Nyan cat, so be prepared to see some rainbow-like explosion all over the screen.

Extra Stuff:
- Scoring a goal lets you ‘cheat’ death once. So if you’re killed, you’ll still retain all the upgrades you have just collected.
- The nuclear bomb will detonate when order is given. If the player who gets the nuclear bomb dies, it will detonate instantly, and if he’s infected by Nyan-disease, you’ll see colourful explosions blasts all over the screen as it’s radius is doubled.

What We Think Should Be Improved On:
- Players are automatically respawn close to each other, so you might respawn next to someone who has upgraded everything he could to the max, and you’ll be killed before you even know what happened. Developed have mentioned that this game is still in beta mode, so they’ll need more time in fixing this, and hopefully we will see the changes soon.

For first timer, we will recommend you to watch it as an observer, see how the game is played & learn before stepping right into the game. You can do this by simply typing /obs or /observer.

Fotoflexer has a ‘Smart Scissors’ feature which allows you to crop out the portion of a photo that you want by using a virtual scissors. It’s located under the ‘Geek’ tab.

Each click will result in a dot placed on the border of an object, & you can start clicking until you have the object surrounded by dots. Click ‘create cutout’ & the background image will be removed, leaving only what you want on the screen.

LunaPic

Look for the scissor icon at the left sidebar to activate this feature. There are several crop options that you can choose to cut out the area of an image that you want. You can cut it out in rectangle or circle shape, polygon (free form), or magic wand, an intuitive tool that automatically guess the part of an image you want by the contrast of colour.

Those who’re familiar with Photoshop will find this tool a breeze, as it has an user interface that resemble Photoshop. It has a lasso tool that allows you to draw freehand, and a magic wand that automatically selects an area of an image based on tone & colour.

A robust image editing tool that allows you to edit multiple images simultaneously. It has a lasso tool that allows you to select any image you want to crop out. It integrates seamlessly with major social networking sites, & it also offers it’s own file format, so that you can save & edit your own work in the future.

Zombieland

Launch as part of the marketing campaign to promote the movie Zombieland, this tool allows you to customize the way you look by applying various effects to your face. You can add mouths, wounds, eyes, noses, skins, and some miscellaneous stuff to your photo. To make it look scarier, you can adjust the brightness, saturation, colour & contrast to have a darker setting.

Zombie Me

All you have to do is to upload your own photo & it will take care of the rest. There’s only one effect applied during the process, and it will turn you into a green blood gushing zombie. Note that there appears to be a compatibility issue with IE9. To fix the problem, simply click on the tore paper sign beside the search icon on the address bar, and the tool will run smoothly on your screen.

Sidebar shows the list of events that are coming soon, & history of communcation with a contact to remind you what the event is all about. Inky

Probably one of the best email clients that you’ve never heard of, Inky is a sleek & modern Gmail client available for Mac & Windows users. One of the nifty features offered by Inky is that it ‘learns’ how to sort emails based on relevance, with the most important being placed at the top of the list. The other useful feature – Smart Views, gives you the chance to organize your mails using it’s advanced filter option. For example, the “Social” Smart View shows notification emails from social networking sites, & “Packages” Smart View display the latest updates from shipping companies. If you found out that during the early days of your account creation, you have subscribed to a lot of marketing emails, the “Subscription” view allows you to unsubscribe easily from those email lists.

Thunderbird

While the Mozilla team has announced that they aren’t actively developing Thunderbird, it remains one of those solid email clients that I still use on a daily basis. It supports multiple POP & IMAP accounts for every email address that you have added to your account, and the intuitive user interface features multiple viewing options, which allows you to view your emails in several different options. The built-in junk filtering does a decent job of preventing unwanted emails from appearing in your inbox.

The poweful search option will return your results in just a few seconds, & for every search that you have performed, it will remember your footprint so that you can track what searches you have done in the past if you can’t recall it. Just like the browser itself, you can add extra features by installing add-ons.

Mailbird

Designed specifically for Gmail users, Mailbird is a lightning fast email client that has an user interface that resembles Sparrow, a now defunct email client that used to be popular on Mac OS X. As of this writing, this email client only support one email account, but development is ongoing to make sure that multiple accounts are supported in the future.

During our test, we found out that setting up an email account is easy thanks to its set up wizard, & retrieving emails is very, very fast. The stripped off, no frill interface might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but the minimalism interface might appeal for those who don’t wish to see unnecessary features cluttering up their screen.

Note: The free version of Mailbird is available for download once signed up. Every email sent with have a “Sent from Mailbird” signature the message.

Opera

You have heard of Opera browser, but do you know it has a competent email client that looks just like browser itself? You can view emails in threaded views, open multiple website tabs, & the smooth user interface makes it a great choice for those who prefer to have a simple looking email client. Trend Micro

Trend Micro will check if a site is safe, & it will show the category of a website if it has been crawled before. Any website that has been compromised before, or being hosted on a server that has a history of spams will be labeled as suspicious. If a website is a bandwidth hog, users will also be told on the result page.

Google Safe Browsing Diagnostic

Google Safe Browsing Diagnostic page shows the current listing status of a website. Data is collected when Googlebot crawled the pages of a site over the past 90 days. It will tell you if there’s any page hosting malicious software, & whether it’s been downloaded by visitors without user consent. It will also show the history if it has ever hosted any malicious software in the past. To use the service, type in the following url in the address bar:

And replace the word ‘sample’ with the domain name you want to check.

McAfee

This tool will show details about a domain’s reputations, sites that it normally links to, server information, & spam history. Web reputation is classified with 4 different levels of risk: minimal, unverified, medium or high. If you have found out that site has malicious content hosted on it but it doesn’t show up on McAfee, you can file a dispute & inform McAfee to have a look at the issue.

Site Advisor

The test result will show how many emails they have received when they’re subscribed to a website, & it will analyze if downloads are free of unwanted programs. Links on the site will be scanned to see if a website is linking to sites which are safe/with little safety issues. Some sites might be safe, but there are a lot of unwanted pop ups & cookies that will track your behaviour. This will also be recorded on McAfee result page.

AVG Threat Labs

Any active threats that were detected for the past 30 days will be display on the result page. It will show the types of threat detected, & what are the pages compromised. You may up upvote/downvote a website based on your own experience, & if you wish to downvote a website, you can list out your own reason of why you did so to help contributing to the community.

Spamhaus

If any website is found to have sent unauthenticated SMTP email in the past, infecting PCs using illegal 3rd part exploits, or hosted on a database of IP addresses that have a history of sending unsolicited emails, it will be listed on Spamhaus’s blocklist. If there’s a user who has reported a page before, the IP address/domain used will be listed in the blocklist, & the page will show a link that further explaiin why an address is listed & what you should do to have it removed.

MyWOT

It has a list of popular websites that have been tested over the past 30 days, & you can browse the list to see if your favourite website is safe to visit.
